Eu hoje tive um pesadelo

I had a nightmare today

E levantei atento, a tempo

And I woke up alert, in time

Eu acordei com medo

I woke up with fear

E procurei no escuro

And searched in the dark

Alguém com o seu carinho

For someone with your tenderness

E lembrei de um tempo

And remembered a time

Porque o passado me traz uma lembrança

Because the past brings me a memory

Do tempo que eu era criança

Of the time when I was a child

E o medo era motivo de choro

And fear was a reason for tears

Desculpa pra um abraço ou um consolo

An excuse for a hug or solace

Hoje eu acordei com medo

Today I woke up with fear

Mas não chorei, nem reclamei abrigo

But I didn't cry, nor did I complain for shelter

Do escuro, eu via o infinito

From the dark, I saw the infinite

Sem presente, passado ou futuro

Without present, past, or future

Senti um abraço forte, já não era medo

I felt a strong hug, it wasn't fear anymore

Era uma coisa sua que ficou em mim

It was something of yours that stayed in me

De repente, a gente vê que perdeu

All of a sudden, we realize we lost

Ou está perdendo alguma coisa

Or are losing something

Morna e ingênua que vai ficando no caminho

Warm and naive that stays on the path

Que é escuro e frio, mas também bonito porque é iluminado

Which is dark and cold, but also beautiful because it's illuminated

Pela beleza do que aconteceu há minutos atrás

By the beauty of what happened moments ago
