Ferido foi o salvador, Jesus, o nosso rei,

Wounded was the Savior, Jesus, our king,

Foi tido como malfeitor e transgressor da lei;

He was considered a malefactor and transgressor of the law;

Levado foi à morte atroz, de nada reclamou;

He was led to a cruel death, complained of nothing;

O santo e justo remidor pagou perante Deus

The holy and just Redeemer paid before God

A transgressão de todos nós, abrindo-nos os céus.

The transgression of all of us, opening the heavens for us.

Cruel martírio suportou o amado redentor;

Cruelly endured the beloved Redeemer;

Na morte a alma derramou, o grande benfeitor,

In death, he poured out his soul, the great benefactor,

E, para o nosso Deus e pai, com sangue nos comprou;

And, for our God and Father, he bought us with blood;

A great multitude was saved in the work of Jesus;
