Nair saiu pelo mundo procurando seu amado

Luiz também de desgosto se transformou num bandido

E numa noite bem longe num lugar desconhecido,

And one night, far away, in an unknown place

Num combate com a polícia luiz escapou ferido.

In a confrontation with the police, Luiz escaped wounded

Se escondeu dentro de um baile da polícia perseguido

He hid himself inside a police ball, pursued by the police

Prá despistar a polícia que vinha no rasto seu

Dançou com a primeira moça que na frente apareceu

Era nair, sua amada, mas ele não conheceu
